Description

The great war of Dulbin is about to start, you see the pride, dark Queen looking forward to her victory.

Sketch and roung colouring done in OC1, finished in Photoshop 5,5 and Painter 7 in about 40 hours.
Had fun painting it.

Lovely anatomy, her back is awesome! Really like to story too. I wonder how it finishes! It really looks like a shot from a movie. The colors set a neat mood.

Cool work,
but it's not as strong as your previous work IMO.

I think there is too much undefined black space in the shadow
area and the sky on the left feels a bit empty.
Also I find the back; shoulder area a bit off (bit too edgy).

But

There is much to admire here, including your cinematographic approach
and the excellent colors.

I agree with BigKate -- the anatomy is 1st rate as well as the dithering landscape definately suggests depth and pronounces the mood. Very nice work - full marks from me

I like the composition on this - the way the foreground figure is intriguingly positioned to lead the eye into the image. If I have one crit it would be that the ogre looks a bit 'flat' - I'd put it down to distance from the foreground figure and lighting but the figure riding him seems to be much more 'modelled' (is that the right word?). I like the use of empty space to balance the image and add a sense of wonder (but then I always admire that 'cos I can never make it work myself !).

I like the painterly ('watercolory') style your works have. And the same goes for this one. I agree with Wallace though, that you have much stronger works.

The painting seems a bit unfinished. Perhaps because of the empty top left corner and the fact that both subjects seem to focus to that eh... emptiness. I suspect that corner is intentionally left blank for a logo/title or something. Let us know

Dulbin Blade and Dulbin Sabre is a world, a project i work on for 7 years now

Is a personal project, more of a personal world, so it happens that some of the images are connected to it.
But funny that you mention it, i don't recall writing the name Dulbin Blade here or else where for years.
